Whois information for xx.xxx.xxx.xx is not available
Forum is using the default "ws.arin.net" for this function which worked well in the past, yet recently (over the last few months) I have noticed that it has ceased to function.
Is there another Global admin setting which would affect this, or is there perhaps an alternative cause? Or perhaps an alternative site that someone could recommend? Using v2.8.1 and v3.0.0 RC1.

Perhaps the particular IP you looked at wasn't in their database yet?]]>naudefj2009-09-30T06:10:13-00:00Re: ISP Information/Whois not available

It works for me.
Perhaps the particular IP you looked at wasn't in their database yet?
As for not being in the database, you and I certainly are included in the database, yet on at least 8 installations some of which are 3 yrs old and some which are newer (ie The Guild, The Witcher, the language test site) it does not display, except as I mentioned above, and this spans 3 different Hosts/servers.
And it includes ones you are registered on, yet they do not even display your Geo-location flag.
I know for certain that it worked in the past on the older sites, and I have no logical explanation why it would cease to function.
Overall I find this more than just a bit perplexing and disconcerting.
