Forum doesn't update ? [message #35437]

Hi,

My forum is not updating; I decided to restart it by running
/opt/xampp/xampp stop then start. I checked the running processes and I saw mysqld, sendmail and httpd running. I tested but it is not posting my email messages.

How can I trouble shoot the forum and get it to work again.

I take it back; the forum is updating for some forums but not all.
Three forums have been identified to be not updating? Other forums are updating just fine.

I can see the mail boxes for the ones that are working with todays time, but the others have an old date?

another update

I sent and email message to one of the forums and I saw the mbox file get updated BUT the message does not show on the forum??

Have you checked your procmail or equivalent logs?

How does the forum update or check for new messages. It seems
this process works for some forums but it doesn't for others?

Which logs? I tested sendmail on this box and it works OK.Also tested sending a message to one of the forums and the mail box
in /opt/xampp/FUDforum/archives/mailboxes got updated. But I wonder how the forum reads new messages.

The forum does not check for new messages from e-mail gateway, they are sent to it via procmail rule that redirects mail to FUDforum import script.

The forum seems to be OK now. But I don't quite understand the procmail that you described above. Is there a document I can
read that explains this process.

Search for procmail in this forum, there are many notes and hints on it & fudforum.
