Or selectively remove a post from one thread and place it in another?

Yes, you can split a message from a topic (look for the "Split Topic" link) and then merge it with another ("Merge Topics" link).

Thank you for the quick response! I was looking for a link within a one post thread and couldn't find it there. The only link there was to move the thread to another forum.
