Hello,

Since FUDForum 3.0.2RC1 is installed, there is no common accented characters anymore in the subjects of imported messages from a mailing-list.

It was fine before with 3.0.1.

Example of letters that are not imported anymore (Latin-1) : éèçàùêûôâ

No problem instead with message bodies.

Regards

By the way, I just tested, and I got exactly the same problem with the newsgroups messages piped into the forum (script nntp.php) : The accented letters are not imported in the message subjects Sad

Did you identify the problem, since this bug was not present in FUDforum 3.0.1 ?

Thank you for your help.

Hervé

I have installed the version 3.0.2 and I have the following issue: message that are imported in the forum from the mailing-list have its subject cut just before the first accented character. But a message with the same subject sent in the ML are ok in the ML and on the forum.

I have verified scripts_common.inc and it is like in the patch.

Do you have a sample message I can use to simulate the problem?

Yes: the subject is "Essai 1 é àvec ça"
On the the forum, it is cut after the "1 "
In the body, it is ok.

Headers:
When received from ML:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

When sent in my email software (sylpheed):
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

I received your mail, setup a mailing list rule and loaded it.
index.php?t=getfile&id=6064&private=0
As you can see it worked first time and the subject wasn't truncated.
I suspect you've sent me a bogus message and you haven't bothered to test if it will expose the problem or not.

All the messages that I sent to the mailing-list with accented caracters arrives truncated in the web forum, but well by ML. Maybe it is the encoding made by the ML that is bad.
I have tried to pipe copy of the received message by ML to the forum like that "cat msg | php maillist.php 1" but nothing arrives in the forum web Sad.
Even when I try with a msg with a subject without accent.

I will try with your forum and ML. Maybe it is mailman, my mailing-list software, or its configuration that generate this issue.
