It's enabled by default. Isn't it? See "Edit Time Limit (minutes)" in the Global Settings Manager ACP and the "Edit" privilege in the Group Manager.

Is it only possible for users to edit their most recent post or is there a way to enable them to be able to edit all of their previous posts?

If I remember correctly editing is disabled as soon as someone reply to a message.

Do you think there would be any way to code a functional edit post button?

Basically on the forum I use people want to be able to create threads that they maintain over a long period of time and thus need to be able to edit the first post in the thread weeks and months down the line

can you confirm that these changes works fine with FUDforum 3.0.3.
i´ve done the changes exactly, but we see no function to edit the first post of an thread.

is there anything else missing?

like to delete the cache (what i learned not to do with /fuddata/cache/ Wink

).
