RDF and Atom syndication issue [message #168092]

I have syndication turned on the forum, but when I enter the link location for RSS into Wordpress, I get:

RSS Error: This XML document is invalid, likely due to invalid characters. XML error: XML_ERR_NAME_REQUIRED at line 4, column 87

This is with &format=atom but the standard RSS link gives a similar result.

Is this something I am doing wrong?
