I would prefer for sticky postings (that appear at the top of the forum) not have a red "Announcement:" in front of it. In my opinion, it's ugly (no offense). I would suggest a "sticky icon" and possibly a "locked sticky icon" for those that are locked.

I think you make a fair point. I created my own sticky tag precisely for that reason:

Well, here's a smaller, plainer design.
