Getting this message on HOST: Failed to connect to the MySQL Server, SQL Reason: Can't connect to MySQL server on '216.71.84.217' (111)

and this message on Database:

Failed to create table fud_action_log.tbl (DROP TABLE IF EXISTS fud23_action_log), SQL Reason: Access denied for user: 'zonum3@localhost' (Using password: NO)

NOTE: I have no idea what info to put in database. I'm a total newbie. Please break it down to me easy. Smile thnx!

Ohh, and I'm guessing my data base type is mysql. I'll double check with my web host.

You need to specify the correct, login,password and host in the MySQL settings (2nd) stage of the installation. The error you are seeing in the result of incorrect authentication information.

Thank you! How about the Database section. I have no idea what to put in that section on that 2nd step.

Is the username and password different for mysql than what I use to access my server throguh ftp?

Thank you very much! I'm happy to say I got it working however all the images and color are missing. I'm guessing there are some files that aren't where they should be or maybe I set things in wrong directories?...

Everything is where it should be. Are there permissions I need to set for the directory that contain the images?

It sounds like you did not specify the correct WWW_ROOT when installing the forum.

I appreciate you getting me this far!

Maybe I'm not understanding what I need to put for the WWW_ROOT directory. I understand it to be the url address for my website which I put as http://www.mydomainname.com

This must be wrong. I'll read the forum documentation for more info but I apprcaite any other helpful info.

Here is what the forum looks like right now:

Login to the forum as the administrator and go to the file manager. Using this control panel go to the theme/ directory and see if there is .htaccess file in it. If there is delete it.

Checked. That file does not exist within the theme/ directory.

Should I give you my username/password so you can see whats going on or do you have any other suggestions?
