Nothing wrong with the software. However, the translation you are using is out of date.

See documentation at Translating. You need to register on translatewiki.net, ask for permission to work on FUDforum's translation and update the required messages. When done, go to the Message Editor Control Panel to download the latest messages to your site.

After reading your subject, I realize that you actually want to know why the post's subject in truncated. To be able to answer, I need a test case to reproduce the problem. Can you please send me the group's name, NNTP server name, message number, etc?

For starters, the messages you are referring to are in it.cultura.storia.militare and not free.it.storia.medioevo as you've indicated. This wasted a tremendous amount of my time.

Secondly, I can import them without and truncation. The problem must be in your setup. My guess is your DB or some cols are not correctly defined as UTF-8.
