Is it possible to switch off the invisible mode? If so how?

I'd prefer not to give users this option.

Also I'd be keen to switch off the Invisible Mode statistics in the who is online section. How could I do this?

You can remove the setting from your "register.tmpl" template and regen your themes:

<tr class="RowStyleA"><td>{MSG: register_invisible_mode}<br /><span class="SmallText">{MSG: register_invisible_mode_desc}</span></td><td>{TEMPLATE-DATA: invisible_mode_radio}</td></tr>
