Hi

I have a strange issue: although users get an email when they receive a new PM, they don't get notification mails for new posts on subscribed topics.

Are there two different methods for sending these emails? How can that be?

Both use the same send_email() function.

This is strange.
I set up a second forum with almost the same settings, and it's working there.

But in my real setup, I only get mails for PMs and not notifications for new posts.
I am running it SSL secured with basic authentication. That's the only difference to the test setup...

Would you please help me with this?
This is very important for us!

Sorry, I need some background first, since I am a Java programmer.

Are there PHP debuggers? Or unneccessary?

Can you show me, where in the code the "new post" notifications take place?

In my mail.log is absolutely nothing (but if FUDforum uses its own sendmail methods, this is clear).

How can I track what happens? I mean the PM notifications ARE working...

A grep against /src for "send_email" shows that you need to debug "post.php.t".
Compare it against "private.inc.t".
