Sometimes it happens that one wants to refer to a topic or posting in a web page, a document, or an email. So one needs an URL of a topic or posting. The most convenient form seems to be the format used in the email notifications of new postings, like

http://fud.prohost.org/forum/index.php?t=rview&goto=16916

which will, when activated, display the posting in the format (tree or flat view) choosen by the user following the link.

My question now: Is there an obvious way to obtain such an URL from a given posting ?

When you move your mouse over the edit link it'll show you a URL with a numeric id of the message. Simply replace 16916 with that id.
