Not sure where to post as I'n new ...

I did a upgrade from 2.7.7 tot 2.8.0 to 3.0.0 to 3.0.7

But this last one is a nightmare Mad

A lot of issue (database wise) I had to perform manually, but upgrade now turns fine until:

Beginning to decompress the archive.
Finished decompressing the archive.
File upgrade completed.
Checking SQL permissions.
Alter database column salt in table fud26_users.
SQL upgrades completed.
Checking GLOBAL variables.
Unable to compile theme default. Please fix it manually: Undefined template: "registered_on_date" inside "registered_on" in file /var/www/FUDforum/thm/default/i18n/en/msg
FATAL ERROR: The consistency checker requires components from the default theme. You will have to fix this theme or switch to a valid template set before you can finalize the upgrade!

I have no clue, as all was default... even the template.

It does say "Please fix it manually" but nowhere I find HOW.

Any help would be appreciated.

Matthijs

Check if you have a "registered_on_date" section in /var/www/FUDforum/thm/default/tmpl/date_formats.tmpl

It should look like this:
{SECTION: registered_on_date}
{DATE: u_reg_date %a, %d %B %Y}
{SECTION: END}

Yes .. I checked and it's there:

{SECTION: ignore_list_date}
{DATE: r[4] %a, %d %B %Y %H:%M}
{SECTION: END}

{SECTION: registered_on_date}
{DATE: u_reg_date %a, %d %B %Y}
{SECTION: END}

{SECTION: welcome_message_date}
{DATE: usr->last_visit %a, %d %B %Y %H:%M}
{SECTION: END}

Well, that is the only place where it's (supposed to be) defined.
Can you maybe give me temp access to your server to test?

Sorry ... but cannot do for the moment.

I also copied the complete default (/var/www/FUDforum/thm/default) from a fresh install, and also not working.
Though with the fresh install (no upgrade) it's working fine ...

I also tried to restore DB in fresh install and copy files and messages folder, and also no go.

Keep getting the message about:
Undefined template: "registered_on_date" inside "registered_on" in file /var/www/FUDforum/thm/default/i18n/en/msg

This is not a DB problem, you can leave your tables as-is.
Try to replace the entire 'thm' directory and re-run the upgrade script.

I have another issue/question .. I did a rebuild of search index and got:

Indexer progress
Disabling the forum for the duration of maintenance run.
Please wait while index is being rebuilt. This may take a while depending on the size of your forum.

Warning: fopen(/var/www/FUDforum/messages/msg_-10000): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/FUDforum/include/theme/default/fileio.inc on line 24

Warning: fseek() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /var/www/FUDforum/include/theme/default/fileio.inc on line 28

Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /var/www/FUDforum/include/theme/default/fileio.inc on line 29
100% Done.
All done in 0.00 minutes.
Re-enabling the forum.

But the message are like msg_$id (msg_10000) and not with the - (minus) sign like msg_-10000.

I assume you've solved your template problem?

Check if the file exists and that it can be read/ permissions is OK.

PS: Sorry, I've replied to quickly. Not sure where that minus sign is coming from.
