Hi,

I've jsut downloaded fudforum, and the phpbb2 -> fudforum conversion script seems to work. It imports users and avitars, and even a forum or two, but it doesn't import any messages, or all of the forums.

Any ideas?

After running the import script, did you run the consistency checker?

Yes, I did. I looked at the FUDforum directory, in the message dir, and msg_1 did not have any new messages in it Sad

There are several hundreds, perhaps a thousand messages to convert.

Really, so msg_1 file is empty (0 bytes)?

Did you run the conversion script via the command line? If you did, did you make sure to unlock your forum 1st so that the script would have permission to access (read/write) to all needed files?

No, I ran it via apache (from a web browser).

The forum imported many things.. but not all of the forums themselves were imported :/

Does the importer util have problems with French characters?

It should have an issue with characters of any sort. Are you sure the import completed, it is possible it timed out before it had a chance to get to the message importing?

No, that shouldn't be the case...

It only took ~ 5 seconds, 10 seconds to run.

I'm going to try an import again, I'll post the log here in ~ 5 minutes...

Well if you have as many messages as you say it definately should've taken much longer to run... several minutes @ the very least.

Ok, I see the error below, but I don't quite understand it.

That is, this is a brand new, just created forum. The database was empty before this.

Why is it barfing? Should I try to delete the default testing forum, before running this script?

Well, this shows that one should not work on something, with little sleep.

After dropping the table in mysql, all is fine. The import went perfectly, as far as I can see.

So, I guess the question is, why did it choke on a fresh install?

Anyhow, thanks for your help!

The locking tables caused a problem, this is a bug to which I will be applying a fix for shortly.
