I have everything installed to server, then I run install.php script and I get, Warning: gzuncompress(): data error in /home/content/k/w/j/kwjones40/html/Boards/install.php on line 480 Failed decompressing the archive, when clicking to go to part 2 of 5 of the install process. Can anyone help? Thank you Confused

Sounds to me like you uploaded the file in ASCII mode rather then binary, resulting in the corruption of the archive.

ok I reinstalled set it to binary transfer and chmod it to 777 and i still get the same error. Is there anymore info I can post for you? Thanks

ok I downloaded the non-zlib and used filzilla to up load and chmod to 777. This is what i get now:

Archive did not pass checksum test, CORRUPT ARCHIVE!
If you've encountered this error it means that you've:
downloaded a corrupt archive
uploaded the archive in ASCII and not BINARY mode
your FTP Server/Decompression software/Operating System added un-needed cartrige return (' ') characters to the archive, resulting in archive corruption.

I also use dreamweaver to work my site. Where do I go now?

I used the non-zlib, I got to step 2 but having a sql error now when creating the table for sql database

ok here is what i did i uploaded the fudforum folder with all the files then i used filezilla to chmod the fudforum to 777 and uploaded binary and then chmod all the files in the fudforum folder to 777. Is that right so far? Sad

yes you can re-uploaded it, but corrupt archive error can only happen on the 1st step, when you load the script for the first time.

Enable this functionality and restart the script.

I created a table, do i have to start from step 1 again?

I'm lost dont know where permissions are in mysql, i looked and on phone with my host company to see if they can tell me. Sad

Read the mysql manual of how to use the GRANT command to set permissions for a database.
