I have been seeing more and more of these. I created a patch for 2.76. Should I post a diff for 2.76 or wait for 2.77 release.

Diff file attached. I think this is pretty close. I've used it for several weeks and it works for binary attachments and HTML/text MIME encoding.

I'm not a PHP programmer by trade, so I won't be offended if you improve anything.
