Sorry about this seemingly dumb question. I have not downloaded FUDforum yet. I am confused about where messages are stored. I read the features list that says FUDforum uses MySQL, but in the HTML user manual it says the messages are stored in a file.

Are messages stored in the MySQL database or flat files?

Message bodies are stored inside a special file the rest of the data is in MySQL.

Is it planned to optionally store messages in the DB instead of putting them in a file?
As there are pros and cons for both storage types, it would be nice to have the choice.

This issue has been covered in detail and my reasoning for taking such an approach has been also explained. Search the forum archives for this information.

There are no current or future plans to alter the message storage mechanism.
