RE: http://cvs.prohost.org/index.php/Inserting_ads

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to follow the docs. I have downloaded drawmsg.tmpl but cannot find dmsg_message_toolbar anywhere. I want to do the thing I see on so many other boards, where an automatic ad gets posted after a new thread is started. I tried the adsense plugin, which is great, but only lets me put one ad which I already have at the top of the forum.

It's definitely there in the DEFAULT theme.
You may be using an old version or a custom theme?

Oh. I see. There are four files called drawmsg.tmpl in my directory tree. I was editing the wrong one. It works now, thanks!
