A place to hold downloads/attachments in one place

I'm new here - please bear with me.
On one or two of the other forum softwares (particularly Invision Power Board which a fellow gamer uses) there is a feature for having downloads in one place that users can submit to and download from (kind of like a file repository).
Is this a possibility for FUDforum? (if it's already present via a plugin, please let me know). If not, that's OK, as I can make use of the existing attachment facilities - I was thinking of whether it would make it easier to have downloads in one place as I'm hoping to be able to offer the ability for users to be able to download content that has been created from the forum.
