Most Current Release in eGroupWare? [message #20887] |

My eGroupWare is version 1.0.0.005 and the fudforum "inside" eGroupware is version 2.6.0.
Is it possible to upgrade fudforum in egroupware to match the most current release?
Or do I have to wait for the next release of eGroupWare?
Thanks and have a great day!

Thank you very much for the update. I'll look forward to it.
And thank you very much for such quick responses and such a wonderful product. All my church members really enjoy fudforum via eGroupWare.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks and have a great day!

I'm also looking forward to a current build of the latest FUDforum in eGroupware. Our company would like to search for words with 3 characters, but all 3 character searches come up negative. I saw this was fixed with the standalone FUDforum, but the build with the fix still hasn't been incorporated into the egroupware version of FUDforum

I noticed this morning that eGroupware 1.0.0.007 was released. So I immediately downloaded and upgraded one of my sites. I was very disappointed to note that fudforum wasn't updated.
Is there anyway I can update the code in fudforum manually?
Thanks and have a great day!

Hi,
I see this topic and I do not want to be insistent. But It is my problem:
I've installed eGroupware for my company and activated some modules like messaging, address book, infolog, ...
I tried classical forum and fudForum and this last were my choice because it seemed powerfull and pretty.
Unfortunately, the 0.0.1 (sic!) version of eGroupWare (2.6.0) is very buggy. I've got a lot of unhappy sql errors, that can't be anticipated (different between users, for example). Second, these errors are not showed so the only thing we see outside the error log is a white screen.
Consistency checks and other fixes do not give any result.
My boss is a jurist and for him, an sql error is just some kind of ugly pink and purple strange beast
In these conditions, I just cannot go on with this great tool for the moment.
So this is my question: you plan for a few weeks to synchronize the fudForum sources with the eGroupWare module. Have you got some roadmap to do this? My company can wait for one or two weeks but not more...
Thanks,
Renaud

Since I work at a law firm, I have access to some nice document comparison tools.
I ran a redline (that's slang for a document comparison) on some of the old source files contained in eGroupWare as compared to the new source files contained in the latest release of FUDForum.
For the results, please visit:

If you think this is helpful, I can run comparisons on all the files and post them to the same place.
Just FYI with respect to redline results:
I always compare the old document to the new document so anything that is blue and double-underlined has been added in the newer document. Anything red and struckout has been deleted in the newer document. Anything green has been moved. See the report at the bottom of the redline results for more information.
Thanks and have a great day!

Ilia wrote on Thu, 19 May 2005 08:17 | What you've compared were the template compiled files and not original sources (.tmpl, .t ) files which were used to generate the result. There are also various database storage specific changes etc...

Hmm . . . I went to the ForumDataFiles location on my server to the src directory. All the files in that directory end with .t (not .tmpl). I did the same thing for eGroupWare. Then I compared, for example, index.php.t (from eGroupWare) to index.php.t (from FUDForum 2.6.13RC1).
I can compare the .tmpl files if you like but the reason I did not was I have made modifications to the template files and recompiled them via the theme builder, so they would no longer be "out-of-the-box" and not a good candidate for comparison.
If there is another location where I can find the source files, please let me know and I can compare the appropriate files.
Thanks and have a great day!
