I like that FUDforum supports a tree view for forum threads. However, I would suggest possibly using the following style: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/win98/page1
It has expanding and collapsing threads, and I like the way it uses the dotted lines to connect messages at the same level within a subthread. Also, it places the posting information (poster, day of the week, date, and time) next to the post, rather than right-aligning it, which unnecessarily separates this information from the post. Overall, a very neat tree-view style.
Perhaps this could be an alternative to the current tree-view style.
