Hello

I´m getting the following error: "ERROR: file blank.gif was not read properly from archive"

I downloaded the current version, unpacked it to my Webserver-Folder, and started the Installation with install.php.

I added the paths on the first appearing window, and changed the folders users and groups. After pressing next I get the following error: "ERROR: file blank.gif was not read properly from archive"

Where did I get wrong?

If I understand the downloaded archive was decompressed on the server?

Did you use the zlib or the non-zlib version?
What version of the forum were you trying to install?
What php version are you using?

moin moin,

bei uns auf dem server (Strato Highend) treten die gleichen Probleme auf.

ich hab die File mit:
wget http://static.fudforum.org/FUDforum_zl_2-6-15.zip
einmal mit und einmal ohne zlib compression gezogen.
dann das ganze mit unzip auf dem server entpackt.

unter halb vom /www hab ich den orner FUDforum angelegt und mit chmod 777 FUDforum eingestellt.

damm im /www hab ich den ordner FUDforum2 erstellt und auch mit chmod 777 FUDforum2 eingestellt.

install.php ins FUDforum2 rein und dann die install via IE bzw via Firefox aufgerufen.
nach drücken des "NEXT" Buttons kommt dann nur eine zeile:
ERROR: file blank.gif was not read properly from archive


ich hab das ganze mehrfach versucht und es blieb immer an der selben stelle hängen:

Wer weiß rat.

sach mal willst du die user nun verarschen oder vom thema ablenken ??

Ein großteil der Programierer vom FUDforum sind deutsche und sprechen auch deutsch.

Mein englisch ist zum schreiben hier nicht gut genug, als mußt du dich schon mit deutsch zufrieden geben.

Des weiteren hast du die Eingangsfrage von Mark Mahoon immer noch nicht beantwortet.

moin MKM,

jo nur das das problem selbst mit der FUDforum v2.7.0 auftritt.
aber dadu was von EGW schreibst dazu gibts hier doch einen eigenen bereich da im EGW meißt nicht das aktuelle vorhanden ist.

@ Ilia

hab eben die FUDforum v2.7.0 versucht .... gleicher fehler Sad

OK Ilia,

you ned bad english

with Wget on server this file
FUDforum_zl_2-7-0RC1.zip (md5 checksum: 4c94f82582fbcc45c36574a298a93963)

Check tha MD5 .... its OK

unzip on server

make /FUDforum for data under /www
make /www/FUDforum2
change the Dirs to 777
copy the install.php in the /www/FUDforum2

call with IE http://...../FUDforum2/install.php

1. screen ok ... klick NEXT
then come on the screen:
ERROR: file blank.gif was not read properly from archive


and not more Sad(

Can you try the non-zl version and use the tar.gz or tar.bz2 archive file.

Can you tell me the md5 checksum of the install.php you are using and the version of the forum you are trying to install.

FUDforum v2.7.0 Release Candidate #1 installer (no zlib compression)
FUDforum_2-7-0RC1.tar.gz (md5 checksum: 88320c3415b2d19566b337c5b404e2c3)
ths md5 install.php unuse ab01a998ded35398918995b8a762f978

with the
FUDforum v2.6.15 installer (no zlib compression)
same problem

change PHP version Sad its not god idea because we use vias for serveradmin.
