Hello - i have trouble installing forum
after first step - blank screen appears and that's all Shocked
I tried several latest versions - but result is the same
fudforum_archive is created in the directory but install.php becomes 0 bytes size

php 4.4.1 freebsd 4

I even tried to set it to 128M -
ok - nevermind - i'm going to change hosting very soon, i'll try to install FUDforum there (i heard only good of it, thanks for this product)

I had this problem as well. Try changing files and directories permissions to the lowest possible protection. (That's not the correct way but helps to check whether the forum works at all...) Check "GLOBALS" file, too. Also do read README after the extraction - there are some differences comparing to the docs!. Search intensively through these forums how to get to the required permissions. I guess you made some mistakes when extracting and/or transfering files like me ... Smile (e.g install.php do 'binary' , not 'ascii' tranfer). Esp, if you transfer from Windows machines to Linux. If you have access to the shell, use wget or cvs. Check if php compiled with zlib option before downloading the correct archive.
