I have now sat down for roughly 13 hours trying to pick apart all the manual tweaks I made for the forum and think I have it all.

Now, the question:

In the downloadable installer for 2.7.6, are the latest CVS fixes included, or do I have to upgrade those manually?

2.7.6 installer/upgrade script only contain the code that was available at the time of release. All subsequent fixes will be in the next release and are now available from CVS only.

Things are running slow after upgrade:
Opening threads:
Total time taken to generate the page: 4.39189 seconds
Total time taken to generate the page: 4.46331 second

Just one reply in the thread (still waaaay slow):
Total time taken to generate the page: 0.23430 seconds

Thread view list threads:
Total time taken to generate the page: 0.04741 seconds
Total time taken to generate the page: 0.49625 seconds

Can this be because of the Geoip?

Turned off Geoip (Do note that I have 40 messages per page)

0.47952 seconds
0.12319 seconds
0.21447 seconds
0.15497 seconds
0.11991 seconds

It's still slower than it used to be (About 4x)

Anything I can do to negate the drastic inpact the geoip lookup thing has, or should I just leave it off?

GeoIP is only done during posting and logging in, so all other pages will be un-affected. You may want to apply this patch:
http://cvs.prohost.org/c/index.cgi/FUDforum/chngview?cn=11620

It removes pointless GeoIP call from the code.
