Ok, I upgraded the PHP. My hosting service doesn't let me upgrade to the latest stable version, but close to it? The error message changed slightly, but perhaps meaningfully...

FUDforum version: 3.0.9RC1
PHP version: 7.0.25
PHP built on: Linux host358.hostmonster.com 3.10.0-693.11.6.1.ELK.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Jan 23 10:30:30 MST 2018 x86_64
Database type: mysql (mysqli)
Database version: 5.6.32-78.1
Web server: Apache
Web Server load: 4.66
Web server to PHP interface: cgi-fcgi
WebServer User/Group: mastert4 / mastert4 (2496/2496)
Relevant PHP settings:
Safe mode: OFF
Open basedir: none
Display errors: ON
File uploads: ON
Maximum file upload size: 64M
Output buffering: No
Disabled functions: dl
PSpell support: Yes
Zlib support: Yes

Here's the new error... (It used to be allocating 72 bytes, now it is trying to allocate a HUGE number of bytes) Before it was always 72 bytes and now it is always 268435464 bytes.

I've also clicked on every other option under the forum administrator Control panel section and none of them has this error except the Category Manager.
