You can edit the topic's main message at any time and change the experation date. However, it will always be calculated from the posting date. So if the message expires in 2 weeks and currently there is 1 day will expiry, you'll need to set the expiration date to 3 weeks.

How about this (feature request?).....Having a "custom" selection in the dropdown box and an additional text field where you can give it a specific date to expire on. Also, maybe have an expre to "hidden" where it's gon for everyone but the moderators so that at a later date they can reintroduce it.

Too much of a pain to implement?
