How hard would it be to add Jabber notification? That way posts to a forum would be sent just like email to a jabber account, which would pretty much instantaneously inform a member.

I don't imagine that would be hard, but all depends on how would the forum send this notification. In case of ICQ you can send notification by sending an e-mail to a special e-mail address, which will automatically forward the message to an ICQ user. If jabber works the same, additing jabber notifications should be snap.
If you want, send me the documentation on this issue and I can review it and see if that is something I could add to the forum.
