Howdy Protoss & Co... it's been a while Smile

Was wondering if you guys have ever seen the
'Text Size' picker on the top right hand side
of every page on http://www.wired.com/ ..

I think that has got to be one of the coolest
things I've seen in a while... not sure if
we could use something like that in FUD or
not...

Cheers,

-G

I've seen this on a number of sites and the idea is pretty cool. I am just not sure if we really need it in FUDforun. Perphaps, other visitors would like to share opinion?

I've had several of my users complain about the small default text size in v2.3.5. This, even after I had edited the templates to increase the default font size by 1. Modern big monitors plus too-high contrast theme plus older users with bad eyes equals complains. Sad (my theme is black with mostly white text)

Layout is not static, the theme manager allows you to modify the colors and font sizes completel. If increasing the font size by 1 is not enough then try 2, 3 or more, what ever works for you and your users.
Personally I use a fairly large resolution (1280x1024) and have no difficulty reading the text, but that just me. Ultimatley the tools to modify the fonts are there you just need to use them to customize the forum to your preferences.

I think that is a pretty neat feature. Makes it much easier when looking at your board from different moniters w/o having to make any adjustments, sort a classy IMO.

Got Torque?

Errmmmm, maybe it is just me but every user agent _should_ have settings for minimum font sizes.

Actually Mozilla has such a setting, which is quite nice when people use absolutely tiny text Wink

I know opera supports a zoom feature which works rather well, which IMHO in as acceptable alternative. Not sure about IE, but I think there too may be a way to force a certain minimum font size.

Just fired up VMWare and looked at IE5.5. It does not seem to have that functionality. Not really surprising though considering the browser's other standards support.
