We have a need to archive an existing forum for use offline.
This will likely be archived to CD-ROM or DVD format. Is this
possible either through the use of an existing feature in FUD
that I'm unaware of or even by other means?

Hmm... You could generate a PDF of the entire forum....

Or you could generate XML dump and format the data in any way your heart desires.

The PDF route sounds good, but would we need to have the "web
publisher" to generate that? I believe that is a fairly pricey
application if I'm not mistaken. How else could we achieve that?

All you'd need to pdf extension compiled into PHP. The PDF library can be used for non-profit.

Sorry, I'm not following you there. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Perhaps there is a site out there that
would offer some information on how we could accomplish that?

Are we talking a major undertaking here?

Not really, all you need is to go to pdflib website dowload the php exntesion and make php load it. That's about all you need to do to get PDF support working.
