Hi again.

In addition to not being able to log in with the "use cookies"
box checked, I've also noticed that ALL of the image links are
broken, and none of the templates work.

I just have a plain white background with no font settings and
lots and LOTS of broken images sprinkled all over the screen.

Sounds like a permission error, yes? I'm not sure what to set
them as, if so. They're *already* at 600 (the files), which
isn't working. I've also tried 777, 666, 755, and 600 (again),
all to no avail.

Can someone please tell me what to do? Thank you.

Namaste,

What is the domain name your forum is installed on and what is the COOKIE_DOMAIN & COOKIE_PATH configuration values set to?

Also, what browser are you using?

Hi -- thanks.

Domain forum is on is Truth.BlownCoverMarketing.com,
though it hasn't yet resolved. For now, it's at:
cpanel25.gzo.com/~blowncov/truth/.

Cookie Domain: truth.blowncovermarketing.com
Cookie Path: /home/blowncov/public_html/truth/forum/
Browser: IE5.5

Does this really have anything to do with why the
images aren't showing? I thought it was me that'd
screwed up something. <G>

Thanks so much!

Well you've just described the problem.

Your current domain is: cpanel25.gzo.com
Your forum tries to set a cookie for the Truth.BlownCoverMarketing.com domain. Hence it fails.

Your cookie path is also wrong, you try to set a cookie for the
"/home/blowncov/public_html/truth/forum/" BUT you should be setting it for "/".

This is not a forum bug.

Hi again.

Thank you SO much.

I reinstalled the forum because I couldn't figure out how
to change the image paths without doing so. It's still at:
http://truth.blowncovermarketing.com/forum and my domain
has now resolved.

My cookies now work PERFECTLY! :-) Thanks.

The cookie domain is still truth.blowncovermarketing.com,
but during the reinstall, the cookie PATH has set itself
as /forum. But like I said, it's working great, so I don't
think I want to change it.

HOWEVER, my image links are still broken. All of them.

They go to the right folder (truth.blowncovermarketing.com
as opposed to the cpanel domain now), but none of them show.
I also get a permissions error when I try to access an image
directly:

http://truth.blowncovermarketing.com/forum/theme/default/images/top_registe r.gif

So, I tried setting the /images folder to both 777 and 755,
neither of which affected anything. Can you please help?

Again? =)

Check the permission of the theme/default/ directory and make sure there are no .htaccess files in it.

Hi again.

There's no .htaccess file, and permissions on both the
/images AND /default directories are both 755.

FYI, /default was 700 before, but changing it to 755
didn't help either.

Oh wow -- the templates are working now (for instance,
before I couldn't see the tables the forum were designed
into), but the images still aren't.

It looks like the permission of the files inside
http://truth.blowncovermarketing.com/forum/theme/default/images/
are incorrect. Make sure that all the images inside that directory are chmod 644 or 666.
