I installed a webserver w/ FUDForum 2.3.2 a while ago and now want to replace it w/ a faster webserver with more disk space.
Everything worked fine. I backed up the forum with the built-in export utility. I FTPed the file to a temp site. Installed the new server in it's place. FTPed the file back. Ran the built-in restore utility. Bang! Everything works and now it's faster!
I got a call a few hours later, saying the PMs weren't working. I checked and sure enough, PMs were being sent, but with "No Message Body" in the message body. I tested it out myself and it was stripping them out.
What is a guy to do? I tried reinstalling, re-exporting, re-everything... I'm lost???
I am about to try migrating the folder/file structure from the old server to the new one including the MySQL database also...
HELP!! Any other suggestions??

Ok, I just got back from the server farm at the ISP and here's an update:
I've tried everything I know!!! I went back to my old webserver, stopped the databases, stopped the webserver, ftped the files in those directories from the old server to a temp storage spot. Stopped the web and sql services on the new server, ftped the files onto it and restarted it. NO LUCK!!!
I am really nervious about this now! If I can't make a backup that I can take to another machine, I am a disaster waiting to happen. How can I migrate my data to a new box? I need to upgrade as I'm nearly out of diskspace.
Someone please help me...
I'm not a dummy, I've been using linux for atleast 8 years and windows and networking for 12. I go back to DOS 3.3.. I'm a Windows NT and 2000 MCSE, I'm a CCNA, I'm experienced! But alas, I'm at a total loss why this doesn't work...
I'm just really scared about lossing my data and seeing my users disappointed...

The issue is likely with permissions. Make sure your webserver has write access to ALL forum files.
