Hello!

When I try to upgrade from fud 2.5.3RC3 to 2.6 I get this error fro, upgrade.php:

Quote:

Warning: gzuncompress() [function.gzuncompress]: length must be greater zero in /home/web/corner/bjorne.starthotel.dk/diabetes/forum/upgrade_safe.php on line 882
Archive did not pass checksum test, CORRUPT ARCHIVE!
If you've encountered this error it means that you've:
downloaded a corrupt archive
uploaded the archive in ASCII and not BINARY mode
your FTP Server/Decompression software/Operating System added un-needed cartrige return ('\r') characters to the archive, resulting in archive corruption.

even though all files are uploaded as binary...

any ideas?

Thanks,
Bjorne

How did you generate the upgrade script?

Did you run create_file_list script to append the archive to the upgrade.php file?

readme

1) Copy the install.php script in to a web browseable directory.
If you do not have safe_mode enabled it is a good idea to place the script in the same directory you intend to
install the forum to. Otherwise, if you safe_mode is enabled, place the upgrade script in a directory that IS NOT
the directory where you intend to install the forum.

2) This step applies ONLY to users who's PHP has a memory limit.
Make sure that the directory the install script is in is either writable by the webserver
or that a "fudforum_archive" file exists and is writable by the webserver. The latter
applies only to users on servers WITHOUT safe_mode.

3) Using your web browser run the install.php script.

4) The install wizard will then take you through 5 steps at the end of which you will have a working FUDforum installed on your server.

lol it doesnt say anywhere

ok the CVS says:

CVS

Once the files are retrieved, run the following commands to create the upgrade script

cd fud21_install
chmod 644 upgrade.php
chmod 755 create_file_list
./create_file_list install 1>> upgrade.php

but what if I only have FTP access to the server?

Well, then you need to generate the upgrade.php on your home machine where you can install PHP (if you do not have it already) and use it to generate the final upgrade.php.

That or wait for the official release.

I am hoping that within a week RC1 will be avaliable, but that largely depens on how stable the current code will prove to be.
