i gave up on 2.5, had the same problem on install,couldnot get past the first screen.

downloaded 2.6 rc4 and it installed quickly. deleted install.php. logged in to admin, works perfectly, added a normal user, fine. checked out most of the functions on the left side of the screen. added a new category. fine.

how do you log out of the admin program? i clicked on 'return to forum' big lag time finally server not found.

backed out. attempted to run normal user 'index.php' from root, it:

keeps trying to go online
when i stop that it displays the normal frontend screen, no images and unable to log in as any kind of user.

could .htaccess files be causing this.

i am running windows 982ed, apache 1.3.20, php 4.23, mysql 3.23.24

weird! like i said, admin works great!
