If a php code snippet contains a <br /> it gets swallowed by the forum.
Demonstration:
This is the snippet using the "code" tag and how it's supposed to look like:
<?php echo "stupid test<br />\n"; ?>
now the same snippet using the "php" tag:
<?php echo "stupid test\n"; ?>
First noticed it in RC 10 but older versions may be affected as well.

Fixed in CVS. By the looks of things I'd say that is not a new bug and older versions are affected as well.
