Hi, I changed the theme to French and the special characters from the date and from the FAQ do not display correctly. It is the same with Spanish. So how can I make those characters display? It works fine in posts.

It is a windows server running Apache.

I am using the latest stable version I found on your site: 2.8.0

In the Theme Management, Language is French and Locale is French. I do not see any charset setting.

Thanks.

The date display problem is because Windows doesn't have UTF8 locales. I'll work on a patch later in the week.

Please try to restore the FAQ pages from your data/.errors directory, recompile your theme and let me know if it solves that problem.

Sorry, it should be in data/errors/.backup. Copy them to data/thm/default/i18n/french/help/ and recompile the theme.

Well, I do not have a "data" folder either (I suppose it is where I installed the forum program), but I do have an errors folder. who has no .backup file or folder in it. There is only a .htaccess in it, as well as two folders, .mlist and .nntp

Data refers to your Forum Data Root directory.

If you don't have a ".backup" directory it's probably because you did a fresh install (not an upgrade).

I need to run now, will get back to you later today.

I will wait. Smile Yes, it is a fresh install and there is no content in the forum. I am just testing the environment and the software for now. If it is what I need, I will install it on the production server, this time a Linux server.

Here is the UTF-8 encoded FAQ files. Unzip them into your data/thm/default/i18n/french/help/ directory and recompile the theme. If it works, I will update it for all languages in the CVS repository.

As far as I can see, it worked very well. Thank you very much. Surprised

So there is only the date issue.
Are you saying it would work on a Linux server?

Yes, it will work on Linux if you set your locale to something like fr_FR.utf8 (pity Windows doesn't have UTF8 locales). We should have the Windows date problem fixed within a couple of days.
