I'm unable to simulate the problem on my forum.

Can you please check if the images are still in your FUDdata/files directory? If so, what are their file permissions?

the files are present under "forumdata/files" and have the permissions 0644. the directory-owner is wwwrun and the permissions are 0755.

the same problem occurs in my test-forum on my notebook.

if i want to download the attached files, this fails. i get only a file with length 0.

What should I do to simulate the problem? Here is what I've tried:

1. Install FUDforum 2.8.0
2. Create a new topic and attached a file
3. Compact the forum
4. Return to the topic and the attachment is still OK

I would appreciate if you can provide a procedure or datadump of your test forum to help me simulate the problem.

Best regards.

Frank
