Just a quick update. I've completed two new features that I trust will be included with the next FUDforum release, namely: bookmarks and plugin support.

Bookmarks
Users will be able to bookmark topics and see a list of their bookmarks in the user control panel.

Plugins
A new admin control panel was added to enable plugin support (it's disabled by default) and to activate any of the available plugins. I've included 3 sample plugins:

  • youtube_tag.plugin - implements a [youtube] BBcode tag

  • botscout.plugin - check new registrations against the BotScout database to prevent bots from creating accounts.

  • welcome_pm.plugin - send new users a welcome PM when they confirm their accounts.

More info about plugins is available at http://cvs.prohost.org/index.php/Plugins

Please checkout the code from CVS if you want to test or create more plugins. We also need volunteers to help document these features on the wiki and to translate the new message strings.

Best regards.

Frank

Two additional features were committed to CVS:

SQL Manager
Allow administrators to run SQL statements (hopefully only queries) against the forum's database. The SQL Manager can be accessed from the Admin Control Panel (see link just above the File Manager).

Redirect Forums
Ability to define "virtual" forums that act as internal or external links to other pages on the same website as the forum or to other web pages on the Internet. Redirect forums can be defined from the Forum Manager.

Best regards.
