I did a data dump and have reinstalled 2.5.2. I have attempted to import the datadump. It sort of worked, in that I was able to rebuild the theme, and that topic headings are imported. The problem is that the posts are gone. The counts under the topics are there and correct, but no actual posts.

During the import I got this error msg:

(admimport.php) 1146: Table '<forum_name>.pg_class' doesn't exist
Query: SELECT a.attname FROM pg_class c, pg_attribute a WHERE c.relname = 'fud25_action_log' AND a.attnum > 0 AND a.attrelid = c.oid AND a.attname='id'
Server Version: 4.0.15
[Referring Page] http://<my.dom.ian>/adm/admimport.php?rid=2&S=d1b4eefab3dc8a268c8000576f0570ec

I've been searching the forum and tried a few of the suggestions, even the strait from admimport.php, which yielded the same results just a slightly different error msg page tag:

(admimport.php) 1146: Table '<forum_name>.pg_class' doesn't exist
Query: SELECT a.attname FROM pg_class c, pg_attribute a WHERE c.relname = 'fud25_action_log' AND a.attnum > 0 AND a.attrelid = c.oid AND a.attname='id'
Server Version: 4.0.15

Help!

Thanks in advance.

It looks like the posts are there after all. They don't show up at first but if you click around a bit on the "Todays Posts" and then finally they show up. I don't get it. If you have to click around in order to get the posts to show up the forum is useless. I don't know what the prob is (besides user error), but any hints would help. The initial load of data from the "home" page to a topics info turns up a blank. 2 click on "todays posts" gets the messages up.

Even though you are using MySQL the forum seems to have gotten confused and thinks you are using PostgreSQL.

Try upgrading the original forum to 2.6.0 and then making datadump/import. I suspect the error you are seeing is due to a bug in 2.5.2 import/dump procedure, 2.6.0 fixes many bugs in that area.

2.5.2 data dump to 2.6 [message #15960 is a reply to message #15957] Sat, 10 January 2004 18:49 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I had 2.6 installed and then went to the datadump instructions only to find that it suggested that I use the same version to import to as the datadump version. If I can import a 2.5.2 datadump into 2.6 that's what I'll do!

Thanks

You cannot import 2.5.2 datadump into 2.6. You need to upgrade the original 2.5.2 forum to 2.6
