If you look at the top line, you see your user-id of this forum
It say Log out [ myuser id ] and this will depend on the language setting.

Now:

If I wish to look at the "Forum Showcase" forum, my "user-id" disappears! It say "username" as if I am not logged in to the forum. I can see no immediate problem, but I report this as there could be a more serious problem ...

Sounds like a browser caching issue.
Refresh the page and everything should be OK.
