Hi,

I have some questions regarding FUDforum features.

What is the goal?
Moving an existing forum to another software base.
Requirements are threading and for various reasons also both nntp and email integration.

As far as I can tell FUDforum (in conjunction with a a nntp server and mailman) should fit the bill.

Are there installations out there that actually use of all those features?

Performance is -sooner or later- always a problem.
The site has currently about 20k registered users, 60k threads and "a bunch of" postings. The actual traffic is lower than this may suggest, less than 500 posts a day.
Which experience do you have with installations of this size?
Is this something you can run together with the nntp and mailman part with room to grow on a machine, or is it already a region where you have to break out additional optimization strategies?

That should be enough questions for the beginning. Wink
