Seems we keep ketting SQL errors (FUD RC 3.04)

Quote:
(/vhosts/nomad-forum.com/httpdocs/fudforum/index.php:29
) 2003: Can't connect to MySQL server on '192.168.1.7' (4)
Query: Initiating MasterDB mysql_connect
Database version: Unknown

I appreciate SQL is a field all in itself, but i'm just wondering if you have any pointers in where i begin in solvin these problems?

Are they Host issues or is our Forum setup wrong (its a fresh set up)

After about 10 mins, the forum resets, i do a consistancy check and everything seems ok again.

(Could this be a permissions issue?)

Any help appreciated. :toppa:

Is the forum and DB on the same server? If so, connect with a socket (something like :/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock) and add "skip-networking" to your my.cnf file.

How busy is the DB server? You may need a bigger server with more RAM / faster disks.
