You could either move them manually, or run an sql query to update the forum_id for the topics inside the old forum and then run the consistency checker.

Yup, we managed it... Thanks for the info Ilia.
For everybody else, this is how I did it...
First of all, you need the Forum ID of the source and destination forums. You can find out the IDs of your forums using the following SQL statement.
SELECT id,name FROM fud25_forum;
Armed with this info, you can now start moving stuff around. This is usually a good point to take a backup of your forum (and a mysqldump for the clinically paranoid).
Now for the actual move. It's not hard, really. In fact, it's dead simple. Say, for example, that the previous SQL statement returned the following results...
+----+--------------------------------+
| id | name |
+----+--------------------------------+
| 23 | Super Bike |
| 24 | Honda Twins |
+----+--------------------------------+
... and you wanted to move everything from Honda Twins to Super Bike. The SQL would be as follows...
UPDATE fud25_thread SET forum_id=23 WHERE forum_id=24;
That's it. Dead simple. Now all you need to do, as Ilia suggested above, is run the consistency checker to make sure that everything else mirrors the fact that these threads have moved.
Life's too short for humourous signatures...
