Hi,

I have 6 forums. I'm going to make a 7th hidin forum. What I wish to do it have all users be able to read/write/see the 6 forums. I then want to have moderators that can see the 7th forum and when messages are reported in the other forums, be able to move those messages to the 7th hidin forum.

I'm trying to get my head around the User Group Management system. I want those moderators to be able to move the posts to the 7th forum but not delete them. Does this make sense?

I'm not following the link between the User Group Manager and the moderators. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Moderators & group management are not related. Moderators have higher permissions that those that can be granted by group manager. Given what you want to do, I believe you don't need to use moderation only group management.
