Graham, the manual isn't made for printing. It's made to be an online
reference, and is therefore optimized for online viewing and searching,
not printing.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any PDF replacement for it, but from
what's available online, the pdf is likely to be huge also - probably
thousands of pages. There's a lot of information there!

Your best bet might be to just get a book on PHP. Alternatively, you
could get an ebook reader which reads html files. Not as good as a
hardcover book, IMHO, but pretty nice.
