My client wants the user to fill out the application form. If I let the
user screw up, that's my problem.

That goes w/o saying.

My concern is not when a user does what I want and expect, but when they
don't.

May need to use different events, and realize nothing is 100%, but this
is a safety net.

As far as JS being disabled (mentioned regularly throughout this
thread), the user has two choices. 1) Print amd mail the pdf, or 2)
enable JS to do things "on line."
