As a group manager sometimes one wants to make sure that all members of a group get a notification. This is, at least in my environment, best achieved by sending an email.

So I wonder, whether there is a mechanism which allows a 'group manager' to send an email to all members of a group (s)he is maintaining ?

The group manager can't do this, but the administrator can. Giving the group manager this capability may potentially allow a non-fully trustworthy person to send a lot of e-mails to forum members.

We have a forum instance with many different sub-communities. So there are several group managers. In our case we consider all group managers as trustworthy, and in our case it is prudent to give them the ability to contact their community.

I see that this may be very different in other setup.

So the solution might be to make this a configurable option, some sort of right the admin can give the group manager. This right would entitle the group manager to send emails to the groups (s)he is managing.
