..invalid is a reserved top level domain for exactly this purpose:

| ".invalid" is intended for use in online construction of domain
| names that are sure to be invalid and which it is obvious at a
| glance are invalid.

I don't know where you read "invalid.com". It was certainly not in the
message you replied to earlier.
