Question Why does the text in a quote look HUGE in relation to the message text? I am seeing this in IE 5.0.

Hmm I dunno IE doesn't interpret some CSS correctly? Maybe you have your fonts set to LARGE in IE....

I don't think that's it. I see it in Netscape 4.6 and Opera 5.01.
Please look at attached jpeg...

Thnx,

I have the same "problem" with Mozilla 0.9.9 (Linux/i386).

Found the reason for this problem. The style for quote tag does not actually specify the font size, so your browser's default font size is being used. In your case that's a rather large font.

To fix the bug modify the .quote style and add:

font-size: 11px;

Has this fix been applied to this forum? If so, it doesn't do the trick. Quote text is still a lot larger.

This fix has been aplied and will work on new installations, on old installations simply edit the file manually and add the line into the .quote css style.

No, what I mean is, I think it would be a good idea for this forum to receive the fix so people who are checking FUD out for the first time won't get turned off. FUD is becoming a terrific program, and I would hate to see people loose interest because of a cosmetic flaw.

I edited the header_1.inc and the header_2.inc and it works fine on a 1.2.7.
Hope this were the right files.

Hm, I wouldn't call this undefined size a bug but a feature Smile. This way it even emphazises the quote together with the background color which is why I even like it. Don't think that this would ever be a reason ppl would get scared off by FUD Wink
bye

heh Smile

I can however be rather aquard for peopl who turned on large or extra large fonts in their browser. The makes quote text insanely large.

Of course for this to happen browser must have a bug with the CSS parser, since .text tag, which modifies ALL the text on the page, sets the size to 11. Thus, since .quote tag doesn't specify its own text size it MUST inherit the value from .text css.
