You should try the Perl news group. One post where you haven't done
your homework of trying to figure out the problem yourself, and they
tear you a new one. Several actually.
Each news group has their own culture. Most of the technical ones
assume you know what you're doing and that you've done all you can to
figure it out on your own.
If that's not you or why you're subscribed to news groups, try
Microsoft's or Apple's support forums. News groups probably isn't for
you.
Unless you like being flamed and abused.
There are even social news groups for those kinds of people too.

Most of it has to do with posts by "richard" otherwise known as RtS, or
"Richard the Stupid/Sto0pid" who is well-known kook Richard Bullis. If you
knew his history, you would have formed a different opinion.

To be fair, it's the best thing longterm especially to the helping
seeking poster. RTFM + google + CPAN (respectivly PEAR PHP) is what
should be done first and unless you have it heart in beat, every other
help is pretty much senseless longterm. In addition, in close to no perl
groups are real trolls along, it's just not our job to RTFM/google/CPAN
for the poster.
