I think I am, but obviously I can't be sure that I know what you are
referring to. But I am having a hard time imagining what history would
alter my current opinion. I would not mind (indeed I'd join in with)
fierce criticism of bad behaviour like racist remarks, but I'd do that
at the time. What is currently being criticised seems to me to be right
down the middle of internet annoyances: he's got an incorrect sense of
what he knows, he asks questions that he should have already learned the
answers to, and he can get angry and rude when that's pointed out. All
these suggest that leaving him alone is a better strategy than baiting
him.

As an aside, I try to answer questions based on the value of the answer.
If I think I can add something, I do, even if the specific poster asking
the question is a troll or some otherwise annoying poster. I say this
only to explain why I've answered someone I am suggesting might be best
ignored -- I mean best ignored unless the reply has it's own value.
